How is console vs PC even an argument anymore?

ITT: Money and convenience aren't an issue.

What PC Elitists everywhere fail to comprehend due to their overly sheltered and money-raining upbringing is that not everyone's willing to spend stupid amounts of money to buy and maintain a high quality gaming rig. Consoles can be bought for dirt cheap, and the games can too. You also don't need to sell an arm and a leg to service, repair and rebuild your console constantly to keep it functional.

Most people who own computers have low-end affordable rigs they use for work and whatever primordial games it can actually manage, and they're not willing to spend stupid amounts of money just so they can play a few games.

I built my own PC two years ago for a little more than a PS3 and there's nothing it hasn't been able to do yet. Oh, and I paid for it myself, plus it hasn't needed to be serviced or repaired. No Red Ring of Death or yellow lights. It just quietly boots and games. It's a "budget" machine, sure, but it gets the job done.

So you built a gaming PC for a "little more" than $300?
Yeah... I call BS on that one.

The original PS3 price, $600. It was worth every penny, and as far as PCs go, you still can't get one at that price on the market to match it.

I stick with consoles for the exclusives. I used to be a huge pc guy till my gaming laptop was stolen. My ps3 with cfw and my Nvidia Shield are just fine for me

i would prefer PC's because better framerate and modifications

i don't even play online games as much so hackers wouldn't matter to me

the only disturbing thing is the price of the gaming PC's

...it appears that Jogurt's level has increased to 1.

Well, my console will play a game 10 times out of 10. My PC...not so much (and it's hardly dated), plus there is always some patch being downloaded in the background that blows my datacap and tacks $50 to my internet bill.

So...yeah, I'm fine with console gaming.

It's not really an argument anymore thanks to gaming being so homogenized. When it comes down to it, PC just plays console games better.

It used to be an argument when PC and console offered different types of games.

Reasons why I think it's better to be a console gamer ~

Exclusives
Game optimization
Graphics optimization
A extremely well done controller
It's more popular by a large margin
Ease of use
Social networking gold mine
Events are extremely hype for consoles and their games
1st and 3rd party innovative peripherals
Good indie games
Saves me money on utilities
No Online requirement to play games
Timely DLC
Physical copies of games

These are just a few things. It's personal preference for the most part. For pc gaming, the only popular games that come to mind is LoL, WoW, and Minecraft. PC gamers are usually these elitist pricks who always think their way of gaming is the only way.

If we take a step back and look at consoles of the past you'll notice that none of them are PC's. console gaming has been going strong a lot longer than pc gaming. You find something that works, you don't change it.

For me, there's not enough variety on pc. You always have to have some over the top graphics card to play basic pc games now of days. You can argue that I can lower the graphics settings but I don't have to worry about that on say a Xbox. On Xbox, ps3 or any console, everyone's engine, graphics are all the same.

Pc gamers love to flaunt about how great their specs are. I actually kind of laugh at it. I'll look at a game like crysis or CoD and pc gamers will say it looks so much better than the console counterpart. It's not even that much better and I didn't have to throw like 300+ dollars on a graphics card so my pc can play an unoptimized game. Keep in mind that Xbox is only running off 512 mb ram with only 2 cores. Do you really feel good about competing with a 8 year old hardware with a current gen pc rig?

300 bucks for 8 years of good games? Yeah, I think I made the right choice.

Until pc gets AAA title exclusives that I can't live without, it will always take 2nd place to a console

Exclusives - Not a lot any more
Game optimization - Fair enough
Graphics optimization - Fair enough
A extremely well done controller - same controllers work with a PC
It's more popular by a large margin - ya, because no one has a computer
Ease of use - in other words, you can't figure things out
Social networking gold mine - I'm sorry, but where did social networking begin? On xbox?
Events are extremely hype for consoles and their games - What?
1st and 3rd party innovative peripherals - I would consider this a negative.
Good indie games - Way better indie games on PC.
Saves me money on utilities - Ya, I bet you're saving a lot spending $60 a game and $60 for Xbox Live when I'm spending $5 for 8 AAA games
No Online requirement to play games - lol
Timely DLC - Ya, on the disc
Physical copies of games - PC has this...
