How is console vs PC even an argument anymore?

But you can play console games from the couch.

^Basically this.

Also exclusives, but that's more a dev thing than an end gamer thing.

ITT: Exclusives don't exist.

Get Nintendo for exclusives, PC for everything else.

Mega Man Powered Up is the best PSP exclusive and you know it.

I just like consoles is all. I don't really see consoles as locked down PC's. A lot of people have desk top PC's that are pretty fixed in those areas. Yeah, there are laptops and tablets, but there are also handheld games. I guess it just depends on preference. Consoles are pretty much made for gaming. PC's are like you said, all-in-one entertainment, but also serve other functions.

Except that's just what they are - the manufacturer dictates what apps you can run/what you can do with the hardware (unless you mod of course, but that voids your warranty/prevents you from playing online). Which is fine if all you want to do is play certain games, watch blu-rays and stream video/pictures.

PC gaming has too many hackers. Literally cannot find one game of BF3 where someone isn't aim botting.

Or it could be that the much higher speed/accuracy of the mouse enables them to kill far more efficiently than with a controller. Oh no doubt, there are hackers in both PC AND Console online games, but a highly skilled player can often cause some players to claim "aimbot, aimbot!" in dismay.

NO VIRUSES!!!

Don't open random e-mails, surf through porn/warez etc. sites, use one of the several quality free AV suites and your chances of getting a computer virus are practically nil. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen a computer virus on one of my machines over the last 20 some years of computing.

So, I decided to pop back in here to see how the flame war was going on. You idiots are still at it, I see.

Listen to the few people who had added reason to conversation, for crying out loud.

I play games on PC, PS3 and Wii. They each offer things the others don't. They all have advantages and disadvantages and that's why sticking to just one because "it's better" is a stupid, childish answer. If you can't accept that, sorry, but it seems logic defies you.

Logic/reason have no place in the land of ignorance, shut-ins and eternal basement dwellers that is GameFAQs.

PC elitists fail to see any advantages to console gaming, namely preference. I like to play sitting on my couch or lying on my bed, not hunched up on my desk. And before "hurr durr you can connect PC to your tv" you're assuming I'm willing to constantly disconnect and connect my PC while also moving it between rooms in some cases, just to play on my tv while consoles already do that.

I can see the advantages to console gaming (hence why I also own consoles) but that's just silly, if I wanted to play my 360 in bed I'd have to move that between rooms as well.

ITP: Someone who clearly doesn't understand the difference between a small, fairly light console weighing less than 20 lbs and a fully equipped, full-tower gaming PC + peripherals that isn't exactly portable.

PC gamers don't mind constantly upgrading their hardware and having everything media related accessible.

Console users like having a system dedicated to playing games with tons of exclusives.

Each to their own.

Come on, not this old chestnut. You have not needed to "constantly" upgrade your PC to play games in quite a while - any decent gaming PC from a few years ago will play just about any game released, albeit with a few detail notches dialed back here and there. Just because certain members of this board CHOOSE to upgrade constantly as they chase the 60fps+ at all times on 3 monitors etc. unicorn, does not mean you have to in order to have a good experience with PC games.

If you buy a games console then you're set for the next 5-10 years. You don't need to update it.

If you buy an average PC then it will be out of date within 2 years and practically obsolete after 5 years.

There are these things called "detail settings" and sliders, might want to look into it.

I wasn't aware this was a discussion about next gen. I was meaning in general.

In general? What does that even mean? PC gaming is capable of ALL the generations it's been going. I'm sure that list is still much more favorable to PC gaming. Also, if you want to play that card, PC gaming can emulate many of those old consoles, so those exclusives are no longer exclusive to consoles. Oh, did I mention they're improved on PC as well? I was playing Mario Kart Wii on the PC just two days ago in 1080p@60fps. That "exclusive" was pretty sweet on my PC with my Wii mote on my recliner on my 46" TV.

The bottom line for PC is that it CAN. It CAN do everything a console can and much more and better than consoles do.

"But...but...I like to play my games on my couch." I give up. No wonder they call you "peasants".

Emulation? Seriously? It is pretty much IP theft. That is right though, the list is obviously much higher. No need for name calling either, I'm a PC guy too. Next time someone creates this topic I'll be sure to clarify "originally exclusive games" or something along those lines.

You know there's such a thing as legally emulating games you own, right? You can buy devices that will dump your system BIOSes and cartridge data for you so you can play your legal backups.
