get 16GB RAM

you're already using 4GB RAM if the GPU hits 2GBx2

no it is shared still

if it's in the vram it is in the ram too, and the ram can exceed the vram maximum if needed, but that's when performance drops

with 2GB wouldn't worry, but get 16

So you're saying I need more RAM because my GPU is using my vram.....? I'm not following.

yes

OK let me say this

I have 8GB right

Say I'm playing Skyrim HD with nothing in the background

I hit 90% resources (this is a real statement, no mods to be found)

Now you could rely on the HDD to cover the rest but you'll hit the floor HARD

And my card(s) are 1GB

so figure 1x2 vs 2x2... you'll want 16

Looks fine. You could run that off a 650W PSU no problem.

if you look at physical and virtual address, the difference being virtual address is also accounting for the other video card

in ARMA 2 I will run out of memory with the distance cranked up to ~2500
