Hello, I was wondering if anyone would help me to decide whether I should keep my current laptop (Sony Vaio VGN-NS315TH) or exchange it with my dad's HP Pavilion TX1000.

Here are the specs for each one, but as I'm only just starting college I don't really know what those things are :P

I would like my laptop to be mostly for college and the occasional game (Minecraft, Oblivion-esque games, Portal-esque games). If it helps, I'm studying Electronic Engineering.

Thanks in advance :D

I'm guessing you were comparing the graphics cards?

Your VAIO is superior, friend. Do not exchange. However, I don't think your Vaio will be able to efficiently run the games you mentioned. :/

Also, I believe you can play Minecraft, but you may have to adjust settings. Your processor is also superior to your dad's laptop as well. No worries. However, I think if you're going into Electrical Engineering as a major, you may want to upgrade your computer/buy a new one if you need to run programs like CAD.

I actually play Minecraft :P Lowest settings possible. Yeah, I think I'll just hold out with my current laptop until I can afford a beast. Thanks a bunch!
