My 780 arrived at 1 P.M. PST and was installed properly at 7:30 P.M. PST.

So, my MSI 780 gets here a little after 1 PM today, and I immediately shut down my PC, unplug it from the wall and install the card in my case. Plenty of room, just had to detach the MoBo power connector first. I check all the cables and everything is good to go, the power cables are good, etc. I turn the PC on and the normal start-up screen shows up, so I breathe a sigh of relief.

Then suddenly "Your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart".

wat.

Does this 3 times and finally decides to give me the option to troubleshoot. A few restarts later, I get the same message and am asked to TS again. This time I manually choose a system restore from 2 days ago. No dice.

I take the card out and reconnect to the MoBo, and still gives me the same message and TSing still doesn't work.

Then I click the option that says "Refresh your PC".

Crap. I didn't realize that would delete half the stuff on my hard drive! I thought the "Restore your PC" option below it was the one that deleted a bunch of junk!

Also, for some reason, the HDMI slot had a few pins out of place, which I didn't realize at first. I was just confused as to why the HDMI cable refused to enter the slot. Luckily, my roommate was able to bend em back into place, and it works now.

So now, not only do I have to re-install 270GB worth of files, programs and games, I also lost all my FF bookmarks and add-ons, and apparently all of my notepad files I had saved.

I'm kinda bummed now.

That is unfortunate. Aren't you the guy who had a dream about that card?

The worst part is that you wasted upwards of $700 on a GTX 780!

Win 8.

Which reminds me, my wireless adapter decided to be one of the items to be uninstalled, so I couldn't connect to the internet for about 4 hours while my roommate had left to watch "Jobs".

And apparently, the install disc, which was for Windows 7, refused to install. Ah well.

BTW, is it normal for the screen to flash on and off a bit when installing the drivers?

If not, my buddy is giving me either his DVI or DirectLink cable tomorrow either way.

Alright, I wanna do a quick benchmark before I start re-installing 200+GB of games. Valley? Or something else?
