I have the two games, but i play a lot more Terraria, i would play Minecraft more if they removed that annoying hunger meter.

Minecraft for time wasting, mods, super-awesome-nuclear-weapons-labs, etc..

Terraria for straight progression, loot hunting, bosses, etc..

Sunk at least a couple hundred hours in both, so no clear winners.

The update where they introduced hunger to Minecraft really annoyed me and the first thing I do with every Minecraft update is freaking remove it. When I finally joined a server with some friends I hated that I had to deal with hunger. I mean, honestly, all it does is make the first two days difficult to survive if you sprint a lot and then after those two days have passed it just forces you to take periodic breaks from what you're doing to refill your food. So yeah, I'm totally with you.

I still play it more than Terraria, though. I give Terraria a playthrough every so often but once I've beaten every boss and maybe picked up some Hallowed Armor I kinda don't have any reason to continue playing. Minecraft keeps me interested for longer because I love building huge structures and then taking a bit of time to wander around and admire my work.

EDIT> If Terraria had a more active mod community I may have ended up playing it more than Minecraft, though. There are a few cool mods in Terraria to add in new bosses, new gear to craft, etc, but in Minecraft the possibilities are practically endless with mods.

Would you recommend me any ways to have more fun in Minecraft? like some crazy mod or a good custom map.

Most my time and fun has come from some of the more major Modpacks out there; Between Tekkit, Volts, Feed The Beast, YogBox and so on...They add a metric ton of content and come with a very easy to use launcher. It downloads the latest version of all the mods and installs them separate from your main Minecraft installation, then you just launch whichever modpack you want to play.

Either of those will give you a pretty good starting point.

It depends on what you're into. There are a HUGE number of mods to mess with Minecraft. If you're using the original 16x16 texture pack or something like it, one mod that I rather like is the Twilight Forest. It's a new world you access by creating a portal, with a whole bunch of new enemy types including lots of new bosses, three new types of ores with corresponding new gear types as well as some new drop-only equipment. It has a bunch of crazy new tree types as well. The new bosses include a hydra that breathes fire flamethrower-style as well as shooting exploding fireballs at you, giant nagas, and liches in floating castles that summon zombies while you fight them. Good times!

Both are a lot of fun. I've played more Terraria, though.

Minecraft.

The reason is that Terraria eventually runs out of stuff because it's content related. Eventually all the bosses will be killed and everything explored. There isn't much stuff to do after that. The possibilities in Minecraft is endless especially with Redstone.
