I was wondering if it would be safe to lie the tower on the carpet ground. Like if that would trap heat, or having the PC in a included desk case (a lot of the desks im seeing have enclosed spaces for the computer tower) with the back of it against wood.

If you're worried about a carpet trapping heat I wouldn't think your better option would be to put the entire thing in a small enclosed space

I have this, I like it. If you have a bigger chair it might not fit all the way under the desk, I don't sit all the way under and it's not in the way when I'm not using it so it doesn't bother me. Other than that it's pretty solid.

Having the back of the tower against wood could cause heat issues, but probably won't. I don't like putting my PC on the floor because it's too sexy to be sitting on the floor, but it's not going to hurt anything besides maybe collecting more dust.

You should try to stay away from placing it directly on carpet; it will draw tons of dust into your case. Enclosed spaces are also not that great of an idea if you've got a gaming computer. Airflow is essential, and there won't be much of it.

I would take a look at Ikea furniture rather than Target or Walmart.
