Could my Laptop handle UT 2004

#1SoulClankPosted 8/24/2013 9:55:40 PM
I'm somewhat knowledgeable on the subject but my Laptop has an APU not a separate GPU/CPU

So the Steam discription says.

Minimum:
Supported OS: Windows 2000/XP
Processor: Pentium III 1.0 GHz or AMD Athlon 1.0 GHz or faster (PentiumŪ or AMD 1.2GHz or greater recommended)
Memory: 128MB RAM (256MB RAM or greater recommended)
Graphics: 32 MB video card required (64 MB NVIDIA or ATI hardware T&L card recommended)
Sound: Windows-compatible sound card
DirectX: DirectX 9.0b
Hard Disk Space: 5.5 GB Free
Multiplayer: Internet (TCP/IP) and LAN (TCP/IP) play supported. Internet play requires a 33.6 kbps or faster modem (broadband recommended)

My Laptop has:

Windows 7 (heard it works on 7)
AMD A6 3500 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 1.50GHz
RAM 4GB
Sound Card whatever
Directx of course
HDD 500gb
Multiplayer I really don't care

thanks

If you have a smartphone from the last year or so it could run UT 2004. Game is ancient. I mean, it might not run at maxed settings 1080p 60FPS (maybe it will), but it'll definitely run fine.

Hell, the newer UT3 should run on that.

I wish UT3 could work

It says 2.0GHz speed

and 6000+ on Nvidia 9000 on ATI

I mean i guess it wold have a hard time playing

Don't read entirely into CPU speed. A modern CPU at 1.5GHz is faster than a 2GHz CPU from 2007.

what about the actual graphics card since mine is an APU

Nividia 6000 series

ATI 9000 series

both gotta be stronger than that 3500 APU with Readeon HD

That means the minimum video card is 8(!) generations behind the A6 APU. You're fine for Unreal Tournament 3.

Make sure you download the Super Mario skin and match it with the Samuel L. Jackson voice pack for the LOLs.

3500 APU is A8, not A6. It's fine. You can run most games on the A8. I can run most on my A6, including the newer, more demanding UT3.
