these are my current specs,

i7 2600k 3.4
nVidia GTX 580
8gb 1333 RAM
60gb SSD
2TB HDD

want to upgrade them to these specs,

nVidia GTX 780 or 790 or 770 x2 (don't know which is better)
16gb 1666 RAM
120gb SSD

I want my specs to be able to run next gen games on high quality. should I upgrade my processor to the 4th generation ? or the one i have is good enough and just need to upgrade the GPU ?

Just overclock the CPU a bit if it's holding you back, which it shouldn't be.

CPU is fine. Hold onto your current GPU until you know for sure it can't handle the games you want to play at your desired settings even after overclocking.

Oh, I don't want to walk that far. Anything that takes more than 12 steps isn't worth doing! Eh? 12? Get it? Steps! Hehehe.- Homer J. Simpson

Don't bother upgrading the RAM. It won't make a difference. If you do upgrade the RAM then stick with 1333MHz RAM so you only have to add in 8GB instead of buying all 16GB.
