Upgrading vid card, should I get another (dua) Radeon 5870 or switch to Nvidia?

7970 is equal to a 760 if you want to know where it lies.

7970GHz is pretty comparable to a 770, not a 760.

Fix'd.

Does it really matter whether the manufacturer OC's it or if you OC it?

the 760 is equal to the 7970 and the 7990 in performance charts....

A 770 is more than 20% better than all three....

Don't be silly, performance is pretty much the same as a 7970 but with the addition of Physx

Yes, it does matter.

It's better to not buy the GHz version. It costs more money and uses more voltage than it needs.

I want the 770 users to overclock their cards in the 3D Mark thread because if we keep using that then people will think our 7950s are stronger than 770s when it's not actually true on all equal footing. I think none of them do because they still think their cards will burst into flames circa Fermi era. =) Don't worry guys, it won't happen! Probably! =)

I don't think you know any better to be honest.

Coming from the guy who thinks a GTX 770 is faster than an HD 7990?

Good one.

I wish the 770 was 20% better than the 7990. I have one coming tomorrow. That would be quite the steal for $450 if it were the case.

amd dropped their support for 7990 tc wait for a 760ti or 760ti boost and 770 is bad folding card 660ti is much better in folding
