is FX-4100 overclocked to 4.4Ghz comparable to i7 2670 QM?

Im getting the FX-4100 soon, and planning on OC'ing it a bit.

My laptop has the i7 2670 QM, which to me is pretty decent CPU.

Will the FX-4100 be similar in performance, or will it be worse?

The i7 stomps it something fierce.

If you OC'd the FX-4100 to 6.0+ GHz the i7 would still outperform it.

I doubt that... the i7-2670QM is a laptop CPU, just because it's an i7 doesn't automatically make it better than the FX-4100, which is not a laptop SKU. The FX-4100 would beat the i7 in single threaded apps without overclocking.

In the end though, as far as gaming is concerned, your performance is primarily going to be dictated by the GPU, not the CPU.

Its a laptop i7. He needs to oc the fx to "only" 5.2 to match it lol.

I have that i7. It's terrible and easily worse than any modern desktop processor.

Going by Passmark, which is horrible for GPUs, but half way acceptable for CPUs, it's about as fast as an FX 6200.
