socket 1150 or 2011 for multi monitor SLI ?

I am planning on a build, for multi monitor gaming.

Gonna be SLI-ing either the gtx 770 or 780.
But I will also need a soundcard, hence if I use the 1150 platform my cards will be running at (8x)(8x)(4x) right? how much of a performance hit is this?

Bonus question : is the gtx 780 worth the price difference? or is the gtx 770 4gb better?
I like using mods on games like skyrim etc, how vital is memory clock speed in this regard?

Wait on buying a new graphics card. The price of the 780 is too damn high. Let AMD get their stuff out to level that playing field.

The PCI-e speeds really don't matter. Many benchmarks have been done and they always show that there is no real difference because they're just not being saturated enough to slow down the cards.

hmm, also will I need to get an e-atx or xlatx mobo? or will standard atx fit 2 Dual slot gpu +1 Soundcard?

Standard ATX will be fine, but ultimately it will depend on the specific motherboard and its slot spacing.

LGA2011 for the extra native PCI-E lanes.
