Holy crap! Judging by that fire strike test, it beats the Titan by a pretty good margin... and for $250 less? Ummm. Yeah. This will be in my next build.

the 9970 is going to beat this card in price (less than $600), it's going to be at least 4gb gddr, it's going to be dx 11.2, and it's faster than the titan and 780 lighting

The problem with latest release hardware is that it would take years for software to utilize it. If I remember correctly, companies just started optimizing for the 600 series type cards....

The target market for this card cares about none of that, regardless of how true it is.

Totally false. Even at 1080p, if you are interested in completely maxing every single game on the market, the 700 series is already a considerable step up from the 600 series. Devs do not need to "optimize" to fit a graphics card. Games like Metro LL, Crysis and most of the AAA new games coming out are very demanding at max and the more power you have to run them, the higher settings/fps you will be able to play at.

If you are gaming at resolutions above 1080, this applies even more to your gaming experience. As it sits no single GPU on the market can completely max every game on the market and keep a solid 1080p/60fps with no drops in frame rate.

Just saw the leaked specs for this and I am interested. Will wait for reviews though. Not a big fan of AMD as of late.

the target market buys the best, and why pay more when you can pay much less to crossfire..the lightning is a good card if the 9970 didn't exist

Neither card "exists" in the commercial market yet. You are judging purely off of rumored specs. Wait til the cards actually hit and then judge from benchmarks. The only part you are right about is that I want the best available. If the 9970 blows the doors off of the 780 Lightning and Titan for less, of course I will go with it. For me it's all about performance and I will pay top dollar for top performance.
