So what is a good place to do a build your own PC type thing like Dell offers?

I know Alienware is grossly overpriced but is there a site that does similar things for a more reasonable price?

Also, can gaming laptops be as easily upgraded as desktops?

ecollegepc will build them for you and they probably have the best prices for this kind of service. Free 3 year warranty too.

ecollegePC does builds for a reasonable price, but you will obviously be paying a premium for the labor.

Put together a parts list on newegg and build it yourself if at all possible.

Gaming laptops sometimes have upgradeable GPUs but being far less common they are more expensive and less worthwhile than desktop PC upgrades.

newegg does have do it yourself combos. Essentially, they ship you all the parts and you put it together and save a BUNCH!

That's a bummer because I prefer my laptop over a desktop pc.
