Shooters are popular so it's not cool to like them, right!? Who cares that it's the most immersive control method for gaming! It's just too mainstream!!!

Titanfall is potentially the best if done correctly. BF4 looks like just more of BF3 just slightly improved.

You didn't watch much of the trailers did you? Only ones that'd say that are those that judged the gmae based solely upon seeing the similiar graphical quality within a few minutes of watching a single trailer.
Did you miss out on the falling skyscraper that players took an elevator in?
Did you miss out on the titanic wrecking onshore?
Did you miss out on the very much improved destruction? yep, probably you did

I don't see how any of those have any effect on improving the fundamental gameplay, to be honest. All just looked like more cinema [which I'm indifferent towards] to me.

The game does come with certain dynamic actions in multiplayer, such as a dam breaking and flooding parts of the level. Or a storm brewing up and reducing visibility massively. I believe in one level a large skyscraper can be brought down, and it'll block off numerous streets with rubble. It certainly adds some dynamic nature to the course of the gameplay itself.

I'd like to see an improved version of Unreal Tournament. UT3 just didn't do it for me, as it seemed slower. I still play UT2004 regularly, but the textures are 10 years old, so it could stand to be be modernized.

Right, but it doesn't improve the actual gunplay at all, which is my whole problem with BF3 and why I don't want BF4. He was arguing that as if it's some kind of insurmountable proof BF4 will be amazing.

None really, shooters haven't interested me in a while now, maybe that will change again one day.
