21:9 2560 x 1080 monitor for $399

Should I get this or wait until Black Friday to upgrade? Right now I'm on a 1600 x 900 monitor but I play games at 1920 x 1080 and downsample it.

The lowest price I've seen these resolution monitors at were about $350

Won't that wide resolution be weird for playing games on it?

No, it's actually pretty cool. It also depends on how far away you are from the monitor.

Games are usually more immersive in 21:9. There's more peripheral vision. If you have an Nvidia card, you can set a custom resolution of 1920x810 to test it out. It's pretty much the same thing, but the resolution is obviously lower and the picture is smaller because the monitor isn't designed to display a 21:9 image.

I've been eyeing that monitor myself. I'm really interested in 2560x1080 monitors, but unfortunately I already spent a boatload on the rest of my system, so it'll have to wait. Hopefully those monitors are still around a few years from now. Unfortunately, they're not very popular.

The games that I play don't support 21:9.
No thanks. Would prefer 120hz over that for now.

No curved panel?
Also, don't most games support pretty much any ratio that isn't completely insane?

More pixels = more better. I got my 1440p for less than that.
