The EVO is closer to the Pro in terms of performance, and closer to the regular 840 in terms of price.

Samsung is the SSD manufacturer to beat.

As far as I'm concerned, they are the current measuring stick in terms of price, reliability, and performance.

Its almost as fast as the Pro, but it use TLC instead of MLC which is supposed to last 15-20 years as opposed to 60+ years for MLC drives.

In most cases you will probably want to replace the drive long before it dies anyways, so I would recommend just getting the EVO, unless youre the type that likes to have the best of the best of everything.

I'll consider the EVO over the PRO but, do the higher IOPS for write on the PRO really makes a difference in real world applications over the lower write IOPS on the EVO such as virus scan or transferring thousands of small files at once?

It seems that the SLC are the best ones, but I don't see any of them on the consumer market.
