Is the 7970 a good card and is it worth $280?

Its fine, its just as much my fault as any because I'm terrible with wording.

and in comes the sapphire defenders who don't bother reading clarifications.

Please, tell me how your clarifications make my previous post invalid or inappropriate.

My experience with Sapphire has been good, and thus I wanted to share with TC to help make a decision, one way or another. And frankly, I believe they're just as reliable as Asus or MSI.

You can't seriously be indignant when you come in and say something is a "good deal as long as it's not brand X" then people call you out. Even your clarification is still rather negative regarding them, as they really aren't any worse than MSI or ASUS.

The 7970 is only the slightest more powerful but a lot more expensive than the 760. Get that instead. It has the best value.

No it's not. The 7970 is about $20 more expensive than most 760's and is quite a bit faster.

Oh god no. Perhaps if you don't overclock. Yet the 7970 is a lot better card and you have the option of overclocking. The 770 and 7970 are the best cards under $400 right now. $300 in the case of the 7970.

That's a really good deal on that card.
