Next gen means to me that video game AI has gotten so advanced that it becomes aware of it's existence and therefore classified as a sentient intelligent being in some way. Then, everytime you quit a game with such an AI, you're actually murdering it, and laws are passed that force PCs and consoles to stay on at all times and require aux batteries should your power go out because your game AIs deserve to live just as much as you do.

The Moriarty story line from Star Trek, basically.

The only new generation I felt on PC was Directx 11. PC is very stable otherwise.

To me it means some games will raise the standar spec requirements and force me to invest in a better rig. And at this point I have to buy a new mobo to upgrade the CPU/GPU which is terrible since I don't have any income.

PCs are held by consoles, yes, but multi platform games rarely allow low end PCs to play them.
And then this also means some native PC games and indies won't bother optimizing their s*** since the average PC spec will be higher. Look at games like Lone Survivor.

And TBH, I prefer wasting money on games more than hardware. PCs are convenient and more comfy. I play them BC I don't need to switch discs all the time. I don't play them for the graphics, which is the only department that will improve next gen.

I'm hoping it means more Games and less Hallway Storybook QTE Cinema.

My hopes will crash and burn.

This is the next generation. "The Last Of Us" was a smash hit. It was nothing more than a long Zombie movie. Considering that's the high note we're leaving the last generation of consoles on. In the next generation they'll strive to make the hallways even longer.

As far as PC gamers, they can look forward to a drm client from, Capcom, Sega, Square Enix, Bethesda, [insert obscure publisher]...etc.

Oh, you thought they made this game for you? You clearly bought the wrong game.
