Late Night: I enjoy the simplicity of apartment living (just like real life!), although elevators and subways are really slow. The community spots (lounges and bars) are kinda lame, sometimes you'll be alone or with one or two other guests. .
The univeristy patch allowes you to make REAL apartments. And you have to find the "hotspot" to find the bar that everyone is at.
Uni gives you real apts like Apt Life in Sims 2? Sweet.
Well TC, if you love making money and stuff, then I guess you should get Ambitions for the extra careers. Showtime has new careers too though, and I believe Generations has a daycare profession. Island Paradise has resort owners and lifeguards.
Max: "I think he just needs a hug, or a sharp blow to the head."

I don't think the apartment patch needs Uni. It's patched into the core of the game. Sorta like ocean swimming was patched into the core game when seasons came out. (Don't quote me on all this though lol).
upgrades are given free in new game patches sometimes.
And you have to find the "hotspot" to find the bar that everyone is at.
How would you do that?
When you visit some latenight or showtime lots, your sim will make a statement when it walks in. It will be something like "This place is dead" or "This place is jumping!!!" If it's the latter, it's a hotspot. And once you find a hotspot, if you look at map view, you'll see a red symbol over the place which represents a hotspot.
Other ways you can find the hotspots reading the news paper. It will tell you the hotspots of the day. Chatting on the computer can tell you also *gossip*. You can actually hack in your name on the VIP list on the computer.
If the lot is still dead and it's a hotspot, you proabably don't have enough sims for your world (number of lots you have).
