Should I get an SSD or not?

Would it be hard and annoying to transfer Windows 7 from a HDD to a SSD? Also while keeping all my old settings and stuff?

Not at all. You simply clone the HDD to the SSD. You do want to keep the HDD for media storage, downloads etc...this prolongs the life of your SSD by limiting the amount you write to it daily. It's more for launching things from than it is for saving things to.

It's totally worth it, IMO. Windows and programs launch crazy fast, and loading screens in games only appear for about 1 second and then you're playing. If you play a game where you have to move between zones a lot, it's a godsend.

Having one is great and not expensive, because you don't need a huge SSD for your OS. The bad side effect of having one is that you get slightly annoyed whenever you're using a "slow" PC without one.

this. I wouldnt recommend a 64 gig version, as the $/GB in my opinion isnt worth it. 128-256GB is a good size. I dont know if they are out yet, but last I saw the Samsung EVO series looks to have a lot of potential.

I would personally just reinstall windows. It installs really quick on the SSD, so the only hassle is the windows updates. Never tried to clone a hard drive, but I know when you install windows directly on an SSD, windows will change some settings to better optimize for it. If you clone, you would/should go through and change these things manually.

Absolutely not. It makes it virtually impossible for me to use the family computers (or troubleshoot them) because they are so damn slow.

Do it. It's like getting a mechanical keyboard, or a nice IPS monitor. Not required at all, but it improves your experience so much.

Yes. I suggest the Samsung 840 EVO or 840 Pro.
Don't get a 64 GB drive as the $/GB ratio is too low on those.
I personally have a 256 GB and still find myself with 90 GB free, so I don't think a 128 would fit my needs. But 128's are perfectly fine for most people.
