WD Reds are specifically made with a NAS in mind. Greens are slow and were unreliable in the past. I'm not sure how the current ones are, though.

How about samsung ecogreen? I was under the impression that the low powered low spin speed drives are very suitable for NAS servers

But seems like there are NAS specific hard drives out now (WD Red and the seagate one posted above)

Are they worth the extra money?
