The 640 is barely a video card. You're better off springing the cash towards at least a 650 or 650 Ti.

Ahh, I can understand that. Like going with the (back in the day) 8800 over the 8600 I'm assuming. Both were good cards, but the 8800 went the extra mile.

Truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if the 8800 GTX is still faster than a 640. I am just guessing without actually comparing the numbers. Jusy going by the general knowledge that the lower numbered cards are not intended for gaming.

The 640 isn't even a gaming level card. It's a multimedia card.
