Yep have one myself, most games will automatically detect it and support it without any drama at all.

And if it's an older game or emulator then there are programs to help set it up to work on those that are really simple to use.

You plug it in, Windows will scan for drivers, and in under a minute it's ready to go. It's still better to get the wireless controller and a receiver because wireless is awesome, as for batteries there's a great Nyko charge stand that comes with rechargeable battery packs.

There are drivers. the controller will come with a CD, but it'll work perfectly without the drivers

Looks legit.

How are the buttons unresponsive? Is there latency between presses and the command being sent to the game? Do they just feel terrible to press?

The D-pad especially. The <- on the D pad feels unregistered at most times.
