What do you think about buying a $521 monitor used, like new, on Amazon?

I got my Dell U2713HM "Like New" 3 weeks ago for $410. It came with all the original packaging in perfect condition and it looked like it hasn't been open prior. Amazon of course.

I've had that monitor for a couple of months, and I love it. I take tons of pictures, and I love seeing them with that much detail, and gaming is also great because you pretty much don't need AA any more.

As long as you have protection (return policy/manufacturer warranty) in case something goes wrong, I say go for it.

It's like $30 extra to get it brand new. Just shell out a few more bucks.

that monitor has nearly 3 times the display lag of the best monitors

It's higher than 120Hz monitors, sure, but it's still serviceable unless you're into competitive Quake or something.

it's 3 times higher than other 60hz monitors

I have a thing for not wanting to support bad technology and trying to support technology that's actually good, especially when they're practically lying about the details (especially the false advertising about laser mice being good)

there's no recorded 1440p monitors with better display lag though.

Comparisons are meaningless if you don't have a baseline for what matters. A monitor with 8ms of input lag is like three times worse than some 120Hz monitors. It's still a great value, though. Fact of the matter is, the PB278Q's input lag isn't an issue unless you are playing competitive FPS or something.

I also have no idea what you're on about with false advertising and that crap. Every monitor is like this. A bunch of those "5ms" TNs have input lags as bad as the 1440p monitors.
