Computer shut off, won't start back up. LED on mobo is green. Any ideas?

I was playing a game when it shut off. It won't start back up but the LED on it is green so it appears it's getting power. Anyone know what could be the problem?

Can you get into the BIOS?

Nope. Won't start at all. I just don't get it because I would think the PSU went out, but the led is still on and green. But, when I hit the power button nothing happens.

Try individual sticks of ram, remove all expansion cards. If it still doesn't start at that point either psu or mainboard most likely. Find another known working psu and plug it in and see if it works, if yes psu if not mainboard.

Yeah, I'm about to test the PSU, god I hope it's that over the mobo.

I had the same problem on my old rig. It was the PSU.

Pretty much this. Strip your PC down to bare components minimum and see if it will go.

If it's not the PSU and you localize it to the main board, try resetting your BIOS with the three pin connector (or button). It probably won't fix it, but it's easy to do and at that point there's reason not to try.

Not that it matters much but it was the PSU. I went and got another and put it in and now all is good. Thanks all.

Excellent, always nice when you don't have to tear the entire thing down to replace one part.
