There's only like 2 or 3 chases in the entire game...
The highlight of the gameplay is the running and jumping and the mometum and timing associated.
Like it was said, time trials will enforce that since you need to take into account that running skill and learn the not obvious paths you can make out of obstacles. That's why I think you wouldn't want it to be openworld since the level design matters a ton in this game. And as you can see with AssCreed, it's world is repetitive and gets boring real quick.

"Chase" games... haven't one since Driver 2. And boy, was that game frustrating...

There is a lot of turning valves, crawling in vents, pushing buttons, climbing on exterior pipes and balancing on bars and what not that makes the game anything but fluid though.

I refuse to pay to play online in a non MMO environment on the PC, i paid 2k for my PC, 70 a month for my net, and 80 for a game new, why would i pay for MP?
