Got my first computer on Christmas of 1994, was a 486 packard bell with windows 3.1 and ms-dos 6.0

I remember playing doom, heretic, hexen, quake on dialup way back then on it before getting a whole new computer for graduation from HS in May of 1998. Also remember that in windows 3.1, it came with some games too and I remember playing some Jurassic Park game.

You guys remember what it was like downloading MP3s, Pr0n, videos, and games back then? I would troll the newsgroup binaries and FTP servers for music, games and other things.... wait days to download them, all while tying up the phone lines. I remember when napster first came out, It was so incredible. Before MP3s, I had a collection of mod and midi music that I downloaded.

Kids these days have it too good.

i remeber napster on dial up............... 30 minutes for a song

aols NWN and first version nwn 4 hours to dl.........300 game cap at 4.95 an hour ......

The first family PC that I can remember was powered by an IBM Intel 486. But the first PC I tinkered with when I was young was a Pentium MMX.

Commodore 64, although it was a personal computer I mainly used it for games. Father bought it for me around 1987. Then after that it was a 486DX in 1992; then after that it was all Pentiums.
