Gotta have somebody to haul around all those dragon bones I'll never use.

Mostly because this. Loot Mule and all that. Plus who wants to be lonely.

Otherwise, it occasionally feels a bit overpowered with how easy the combat can be. But other times it's nice to have a couple to rush in and take hits while I heal.

Only on one character, my necromancer, who has both a Death Hound and a modded follower (Hoth). My brother has an army of followers on his Orc, who's supposed to be a sort of "gang leader" kinda guy.

According to him, the dynamic difficulty mod we're using keeps his little army of followers from becoming to ridiculously overpowered.

They only get in the way.

If I want a loot mule, I simply up my carrying weight.

Going back and forth between a dungeon and your house because you can't carry it all is ****ing stupid.

You need to use a mod to. There's a mod I use called Amazing Follower Tweaks. It makes it so you can have as many followers as you like, customize their clothes, customize their weapons, they can upgrade in skills, etc...etc.... Look it up on the Nexus site.

I mostly make stealth characters, so i go alone. Followers usually ruin the whole stealth thing unless i stack them with +sneak gear

Yeah. The carry weight is the only "cheat" I use in Skyrim. I can't be bothered to make 18000 trips back and forth from a dungeon. It should really be an option in game. Sometimes trying to be too realistic just makes the game tedious.
