Dunno whether I should keep it for benchmarking or just sell it, though. I am really tempted to just keep it.

Keep it. You'll be set CPU wise for 2 years.

Longer than that.

Nice snag! It'll complement your 7970's well :)

Right? I'm jealous! Though if at some point I decide I want to drop that cash, at least I already have the mobo for it. Probably invest in a better closed loop cooler or get ambitious and build one.

Hah, that's what I was thinking, but then I have to buy an x79 board and eveything, lol. I couldn't sell my current MOBO and processor, since I would probably just give it to my brother.

I'm still on the fence about it, even though I'll most likely keep it and just get an x79 board in a couple months.

That's awesome man.

I run a lot of CPU intensive applications so those 12 threads make me kind of jealous, but I get by with what I have. I would definitely keep it but then again I don't know what kind of things you do with your computer. If it's only gaming then it really wouldn't be much better.

So if you ever plan to do more with your rig I would definitely keep it as you have to pay for productivity like that. If you really only want to game and do regular tasks then I would sell it. Just make sure you get a good amount for it.

Congrats, man.

Make sure you buy a 8 dimm slots with load of PCI-E lanes motherboard with a 2011 CPU. X79 is made for multi purpose.
