Can the Roxio Game Capture Hd Pro capture 1080p off the PS3?

I have read that the Playstation 3 encrypts its HDMI connection and that all capture devices cannot read HDMI. Is this true?

What?

Not even sure how you could encrypt an HDMI connection.

If this is true, I'm surprised we haven't seen "Designed for PS3" on HD TV's yet.

yes its true, u cannot capture 1080p from HDMI on PS3.

you need something like this to make 1080p capture possilbe:

http://www.hdfury.com/

it bypasses HDCP

How big of a difference is there between 1080i(or 720p) and 1080p when uploading video game footage to YouTube?

Zero, since there are virtually no games on PS3 that are 1080p native

1080i sucks, avoid at all costs. as the poster above said, there are only a handful of games that use 1080p natively. most are 720, and many the of the other games that support 1080p are upscaled from 720p.

Hold on, so a TV can decrypt an encrypted signal, but a recorder can't?
WTF?

Well considering PS3 games don't run in 1080p....
