Great moments in games that you don't like or aren't the greatest

Mine is;

Alan Wake spoilers:

Having Children of the Elder God playing with the pyrotechnics exploding all around you while fighting the Taken on the old stage. Man, that was great

The game is mind numbingly easy/boring, but I can overlook it for things like this.

Chrono Cross. I did not like that game at ALL and found that the grainy battle graphics made me feel a bit sick. The writing style was tacky and they focused too much on having a million characters and not even writing unique speech for them (It seems they wrote one line for each situation in the game and then depending on which character was in your party they ran it through a filter to add a lisp or accent to it or throw in randomly-placed French words for no reason). Didn't care for the battle system.

But man, the quality of the FMVs was OUTSTANDING for the PSX era. And that moment when Lynx took over my main character's body, reeled in Kid with a hug, and then STABBED HER THROUGH THE HEART was freaking amazing.

Red Dead Redemption

The story is really bad until that last group of epilogue missions. Wow, powerful stuff.

The ending to Dragon Age Origins.

I've said I don't like that game. But whenever I complain about Mass Effect 3's ending, I point to Dragon Age Origins as a way Bioware did an ending "right". You get a few different scenes and dialogues, depending on what you chose previously. Your ending can be a couple different heroic tragedies, a story of redemption, or a great victory where everyone important to you manages to survive. And you get an update on the various places you visited, learning how they fare after the game ends.

Oh how I would have loved to get something similar for Mass Effect 3...
The sole purpose of this space is to make my post look longer.

Totally. One of the first times I've agreed with somebody else on GameFAQs about RDR.

Maybe i'm the one that's mistaken, but isn't this topic about moments in games that everyone else liked but you didn't? Like the TC just posted a cool part of a game he liked! I think we can all agree it was cool! This topic title is all wrong!!! X(

Metal gear solid 3

When Snake has to kill Big Boss and she has to die for her country and no one will ever consider her as a hero when everyone will think that she really defected and is a traitor. She lost everything and in the end she chose to die for her country despite being branded as a traitor. I don't blame her though since she lost everything (The sorrow and Ocelot).

This pretty much sums up my feels

Both epic and heartbreaking at the same time. My favourite MGS ever!!!
