How are these headphones?

They're just barely over my budget ($100) but they look really cool, have a great range and have a million glowing reviews. Any experience with them?

I'm getting sick of my $20 Wal-mart Sony headphones. My brother's Sennheiser 555's have spoiled me.

Do you have any recommendations in that price range? Those don't sound like they're what I'm looking for.

Well, if you like the Sennheiser HD 555, you could get the updated HD 558, but I think that'll be outside of your price range. The Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 have a similar sound if you like the HD 555 and it's right at $100.

What kind of sound are you looking for? Bass heavy, focus on vocals, neutral, something good for metal, etc? Do you want them open or closed (open has better sound stage but leaks noise in/out, closed is the opposite)?

I'm looking for something fairly neutral with strong, clear mids mainly. Primarily for gaming, but also listening to a fair bit music. A lot of different stuff, but hip hop is what I listen to the most so I wouldn't mind if they were slightly bass heavy. Open is preferred since they won't be leaving my desk so I don't have to worry about my surroundings.
