"When I took the job, I braced myself for criticism, expecting many people–without even watching the show–to instantly label it girly, stupid, cheap, for babies or an evil corporate commercial. I encourage skeptics like this to watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic with an open mind. If I’m doing my job right, I think you’ll be surprised." —Lauren Faust
"If I had a heart, this would be where I die of laughter."
The whole brony this is simple to explain. I remember when i was in highschool it was 'cool' to like things for little kids. GIrls having Elmo backpacks and stuff. This brony thing is just that, but magnified by the internet.
Anyone who says this has demonstrably proven they don't know what they're talking about. People enjoy the show because it's a nice cartoon. I can enjoy several cartoons; Tom and Jerry, Adventure Time, Avatar, My Little Pony, etc. Is there a difference here? All of them are full of whacky and fun antics with characters you come to appreciate. Oh, what, My Little Pony is really colorful? Such blasphemy! Color is not for manly men, punching down trees and fighting bears is, while smoking a large cigar with a dreary background. How dare anyone stray from the specific path prescribed to them from birth. Grrr, I need to get off the computer and go fix a car and run marathon just to get over talking about those colorful ponies!
I'm sorry, but this is honestly how some of you guys come off as sounding. It's as if some of you aren't secure with your own masculinity or something, so you have to belittle others to raise yourself up. It's called bully tactics. Besides, did you know that for the longest time pink was actually considered a boy's color? It is, after all, a shade of red. So grow up and gain some perspective; I promise it won't kill you.
