Trying to figure out how the get the biggest boost for my dollar
Black 2 FC: 1593-5449-4573 (I am well aware the 3DS is region locked)
AMD Athlon II Quad Core 3.0GHZ | HD 5770 | 4GB RAM

That is actually what I am leaning towards to be honest. My PC parts are all over 3 years old. Just wanted an opinion to give a boost

If you are upgrading in increments, then in general the graphics card will be the biggest first boost. However, if you have the money to upgrade the whole thing then you may want to do that.

If you have the patience to wait until Black Friday/Cyber Monday, you will almost definitely spend less money for higher quality components. It's a ways off, but depending on your budget it will likely be worth it. Especially since you will have more options on the GPU front.

Have about $1500 for a build.

I have no problem waiting. I can run all my games at decently high settings as is (though my games aren't exactly too demanding).
