I've never had a gaming mouse.. I only have a generic dell mouse but I have been getting in to Final Fantasy XIV a lot more recently. Will a Razer Death Adder improve anything over a dell mouse? A lot of people say more dpi in a mouse doesn't really do anything.. What do you guys think? --- i5-3570K / ASRock Z77 Extreme4 / 8GB DDR3 / Samsung 840 120GB 2.5" SSD / Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 / Corsair 300R / Rosewill 630W 80 PLUS / Windows 8 64-bit
My mouse supports up to 5700 DPI, I set mine to 400. DPI is useless, don't even think about it.
Most important parts are the overall build quality, quality of the sensor, and how well it fits your grip. Deathadder has the build quality of a cheap Chinese toy, but its sensor is good and iis very comfortable + light.
If you want heavier mice, there's the R.A.T. 9 and Corsair M90/M95. For light~medium mice, there's the Logitech G500 (and Deathadder, of course). --- Have you had the dream again? A black goat with seven eyes that watches from the outside.
i love my deathadder, it was and is my first gaming mouse. I thought when I first got it that it was a bit too fast, but after some tweaking i love it. I also love how it NEVER gets dirty. My old mouses got dirty as hell, but this some how is flawless, wish i could say the same for my blackwidow keyboard --- [i5 2500k][haf 912][asrock z68 ex3][powercooler 6870][8gb g.skill ripjaw series][OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W][hitachi 500gb]
As for DPI, my mouse gets 6200 DPI and it's wonderful. Just set your in-game sensitivity and windows mouse speed to fairly low, and the smoothness of the high DPI will shine --- "Asgaard's always been my home! But I'm of different blood. I will overthrow their throne! Deceiver of the Gods!."
