i apologise if this is a dumb or newbie question but i am pretty new to using steam.

i just wondered if i buy a game, and install it, then a friend visits who also owns said game and logs into there steam account, will they be able to still play it.(without having to re download it)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he will have to re-download if it is a Valve game, since those games are stored under your account-specific folder instead of the common folder.
