I like speakers better than headphones.

Makes a lot of sense. There are a lot of situations when I prefer them to headphones as well. But right now, when behind the PC it is just inconvenient most of the time.

I have my PC hooked up to my 7.1 receiver and that to my big screen TV. My whole sound system cost $2400, so no headphones will ever compare to that. I have the speakers set up pretty good. Not perfect but good. I really like being able to hear where an enemy is attacking me from just by which speaker the sound comes from. It's so good, there is no comparison.

Thanks for telling.

Now, did you know that my hamster likes carrots? I think that is more interesting to talk about.

Headphones because I'm a wirephobe. I like my desk as clean as possible.

I like headphones better as they block out other noises instead of merging with them. Makes the movies, music and gaming better. Of course privacy too.

I like using the usb port for them much better than the jack. Cabling seems to last longer and take more of a beating.

Does it like the carrots to be peeled before it eats them?

The problem with speakers is that they have to be set up properly in order to get the full benefit, and most people have no idea how to do this. If one is indeed able to set up speakers correctly, then a well chosen $100 pair of speakers is going to blow away an equally well chosen $100 set of headphones, the difference becoming increasingly large as the price goes up. Headphones are inherently a compromise, but often a necessary one (not pissing off room mates, etc.)

Lol, no. headphones sound better.

So... Like... Route the wires behind your desk like everyone else...
