Also I've heard from 2 different people that Windows 8 has backdoors to allow the NSA to snoop around on your computer. Get Windows 7.

Also, why are almost all new computers shipping with Windows 8 if the consumers have voiced their disapproval with their wallets? Acer, Asus, HP, and Lenovo are loosing a ton of money by not bringing back Windows 7 on desktops and laptops. Sales are down double digits over last year.

You have proof of that? I would love to read an article about it.

I don't have proof of anything. The story is still developing. I'm skeptical but I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to bow to government pressure. If more sources come out or some hacker exposes/exploits the backdoor and goes public with the media I hope there is a HUGE backlash against Micro$oft

I would advise windows 7, as a huge XP fan, moving to 7 was a positive experience. Also stay far far.... far... FAR FAR FAR away from Windows 8, it is god awful.

lol, what a noob. probably tried Win8 for 30 seconds and got confused.

Hating Windows 8 doesn't make you a noob, If anything its the very opposite.

I think your tinfoil hat is on too tight.

PC sales are down because people are buying tablets and smartphones. Not because of a lack of Windows 7. And lolnsabackdoor. Your insider source article gives about as much detail as me saying "HEY GUIZ THE GUVMENT CAN WATCH UR ST4RT M3NU!!!11!!11!!!!"

PC sales are down because no one wants Windows 8, luckily some stores still allow you to get windows 7 instead. Anyone i have talked to that has got Windows 8 regretted it and often end up getting windows 7. I know there is a few Windows 8 sheep on this board though. Which i don't understand. Just because it is new doesn't mean you have to buy it and brown noes it till the bitter end.

I just upgraded to 8, and my comp decided to freeze every 15 seconds and not even want to boot into windows half the time, then it fubared and I had to completely reformat my hard drive, losing 10 seasons of Red Dwarf and all my games and music. I have a TB hard drive and a 250 gb cap on my internet. This is a bad thing. Windows 8 more stable? Yeah, no... I would recommend 7 over XP or 8 any day of the week
My gaming rig: ASUS G73JW: I7 740qm, 8 gigs ddr3, Nvidia Geforce 460m.
I like single player games. Nothing is quite as enjoyable as playing with myself.

XP was a great operating system, but its time has passed. Get Windows 7 instead.
