How many games per year do you pay full price for?

Zero this year, three last year and four(I think) in 2011.

Certain games have served as a wake up call, that coupled with a nice backlog really affords me flexibility when it comes to buying games; when and for how much.

I haven't paid full price since the 90's. It was always possible to find a good deal on a pre-order for at least 20-40% off if you shopped around, or some retailer offloading stock a few weeks after release. Sadly, now that more and more games are going digital and physical releases are becoming more limited, its harder and harder to hunt down a good deal.

I used to everyonce in a while for the games I really wanted and knew I would get a lot of hours out of, but I haven't in years and not sure I'll ever do it again. On PC I would never pay full price for a game I can't sell or lend to anyone (as far as I know). I don't really feel like I own it, especially on some games where you must be logged in to play. Lame. I don't pay more than $5 anymore.

As for console games, the highest I'm willing to pay is $30, but even that's rare now. Steam sales has decreased the worth of games for me quite a bit. Even though I much prefer consoles and owning my games, for most games I'll just wait for Steam sales from now on.

20+ if you count the the multiple $5-15 indie games I purchase. In terms of $60 titles though, I'll only purchase at launch if it's something I'm really looking forward to. So maybe 1 every year or two. Actually, up until I bought Payday 2 a few days ago, I hadn't bought anything full price over $15 this year.

I'd say between 6 and 10 games, but most of those are indie games that only cost $10 or $15.
