"HAHA UR STILL LIV WIF UR MOMA! LOLOLOLOL!!11"

I'm 17, and I plan to move out within the next 2 years.

Now that we got that outta the way...

So my buddy isn't exactly an expert, and he somehow contracted "RansomWare". I didn't even know this existed, the closest thing I could think of was that DDOS stuff. Anyway, he is basically laptop-less until his "friend of my older brother's who co-founded Amazon.com" "fixes" it. I ask my mom, "Hey can he use your laptop?" Mind you I actually bought it for her. "He'll just be installing Steam, and Steam is extremely safe, it didn't come through Steam." Of course, her response...

"No, I don't care what Steam is, I'm not letting him download a virus on my brand new laptop! He doesn't even take care of his own stuff!"

He doesn't take care of his own stuff, but he'd be monitored 24/7 with me being in the same room, and the only thing he'd be doing on it is playing Steam games with me when he's over. But no, "GabeN is going to hax me!1!1"

Uhg... I mean she isn't technologically inept, she knows how to use a computer, but she freaked out when I removed Windows Photo Viewer from the taskbar....

If I didn't understand computers, I would let someone who just ****ed up their own computer anywhere near mine.

Even now, being very good with computers, I wouldn't let your friend within 50 ft of my computer.

Your friend was dumb enough to do it once. He can do it again.

It only takes one dumbass click.

It's her laptop. If she doesn't want Steam on it, or doesn't want your friend to use it, that's her right.

Have to echo the above "Keep him the hell away from my stuff" comment.

Yeah, anyone can potentially get a drive-by virus from who knows what site...But regardless, if he manged to get one once, even under close watch, all it takes is two minutes of looking the other way for him to decided to "Browse" somewhere and run full circle all over again.
