Some overclocking problems

I recently started trying to overclock my CPU. I have a 3570K, z77X D3H motherboard, and a Hyper 212 Plus cooler. Whenever I set the voltage manually and restart, my computer freezes at the boot screen and I have to clear the CMOS to get it to boot again. If I leave the voltage on auto it ramps up to 1.5V under stress for only an overclock of 4.3 GHz which causes the temps to go above 100C which I know isn't good for the CPU.

So what I'm wondering is, what am I doing wrong when setting the voltage that it isn't letting me boot m computer. I've seen people easily get to 4.3GHz with a voltage of only 1.2V with manageable temps, but I can't set the voltage manually at all without it freezing upon boot.

TC, this is where you can find which bios version you're currently using.

I got it to work. I think the problem was not turning off the automatic boost thing before raising the base clock.

Don't mean to high jack another persons topic. But we're doing the same thing.

OK I've been able to do a stable 4.3Ghz @ 1.125v. Now I'm pushing at 4.4Ghz and right now the core v is 1.185 and CPUZ is saying 1.2v.

My question is it worth it to push to 4.4Ghz when the voltage is soo high?

A completely stable, 4.3Ghz overclock w/ only 1.125V is pretty impressive. Also, 1.20V for a rock solid 4.4Ghz is most definitely not "soo high." Try and keep it below 1.25V (1.30V even) and you'll be fine. That being said, your 4.3Ghz overclock seems great so I'd just leave it at that.

I guess I'll mess with the 4.4 ghz on the other bios. But like I said above 1.185v on bios and 1.2v in cpuz was "stable" running prime95. But the temps were at 80-90c running for 30mins.

CPU cooler is an h100i in push config using noctua nff12(?) fans.

This is the bios settings I used for 4.3ghz

Should I be worried about that? Windows isn't displaying the second number as 4.4hgz. When I did the slider OC windows usually reports it right

Those temperatures seem fairly high for 1.125V. The H100i should do better than that. What's your ambient temperature like? For reference, I'm using the original H100 push/pull set to balanced performance with the supplied Corsair fans, and my temperatures top out at ~75C on Prime95. That's at 4.5Ghz/1.23V, with an ambient temperature of ~23C.

That's absolutely fine. According to Windows, my 3770K is clocked at 3.5Ghz.

I have no way in measuring that. I can only say local weather is 24c and this room gets fairly hot. On normal game use I'm peaking at 61c. This is for the 4.3ghz OC btw.

Edit. My previous post was in reference to the 4.4 ghz run

Edit 2. I should mention I only get up to 80-90c(intel burn test/pime95) when doing stress and stability tests. But for daily video games I'm at around 55-61c and idleing at 35-40c.

I wouldn't be surprised if your room temperature is 28-30C. In that case it's okay I suppose. 61C peak while gaming is pretty good.

I'm using the corsair a540 case. So is it worth using push/pull for h100i
