this keeps getting thrown around the xbox and ps4 boards and a assume it has something to do with computers or something

anyone able to fill me in on this

and none of that "lol console peasant" bull**** or at least answer the question before you go into elite mode please

Teraflops. A measure of how many floating point calculations per second a processor/mainframe can produce.

Its basically the horsepower of the cpu.

Edit: For reference, my 4 core CPU is capable of 120 gflops while overclocked which is 0.12 Tflops.
Edit2: That may seem like a small number but it really isn't and a GPU can perform a lot more. A 670 for instance is rated roughly for 2500 Gflops or 2.5 Tflops

Tera FLOPS or trillion floating point operations per second, basically it's a measure of computing performance

All you need to know is that you can safely disregard anything you hear/read regarding a console's abilities on those boards.

i'm curious about this too know...what is the tflops of i5-3570k? I googled and it said 112 gflops...but isn't 1.8 tflops like 180 gflops? How can a PS4 processor have more computing power? Do i have this wrong? Anyone with clear answer...

how is the ps4's processor more powerful? It says 1.8 teraflops for the ps4...

oh, it's all around performance? I understand...I thought it was cpu exclusively

and is it just the gpu and cpu or more?

That is likely the power of the whole machine including the gpu. Mine for instance is at 2.6tflops. Its a pretty useless measurement on its own to be honest. There are so many different factors involved in performance.

That's CPU+GPU

is it just cpu and gpu or other parts of the machine as well?
