Why let them sit there if I could make room for something else?

Because if a friend or I wants to play that game, you can't without spending time to redownload it. I like being able to click whatever I feel like playing when I feel like playing it. Not necessary by any means but a convenience nonetheless.

I love having this option. I have over 200 games(not that many really) and in 2-3 hours I can play 4-5 games of different genres.

About 13TB. Roughly half of that is redundant backups.

2 500 GB drives
1 3 TB drive
1 2 TB drive
2 1 TB drives

I'm not going to bother trying to count up my USB keys and such.. Oh also I'm getting a 256GB SSD when I build new rig; so may as well add that up as well.

I do a lot of video editing, 3d work and graphic design; so I need a ton of space.

Option D for me. And to answer TastyKittyMMMM, most of mine is used for photos and videos because one of my hobbies is photography. The rest is free space, or used for games since I have a lot of PC games...

I don't download porn, I use DVDs or redtube, etc.

Bear in mind that most people back up their data. So, a dude with 8TB total is probably using 4TB and then backing it up. It sounds twice as bad as it really is.

But yeah, if you're into photography, lossless audio, or any kind of HD video editing/storage, you run out of space quickly. I'm into all three.
