If you have an Nvidia card, you can set a custom resolution of 1440x1080. Then, the game might magically have an option for 1440x1080 in the settings. You might not even have to switch to 1440x1080 before starting the game.

I've used this to force a resolution of 1920x810 in some games. Works just fine.

Good idea, and definitely works for most titles, but the selection in Indigo Prophecy is bound to a list set in the executable. Years ago I found a forum post indicating what values you could hex exit to add in your own though, and it worked fine. There was one scene where it will outright crash (which I'll only spoil if asked, it's rather early on), but you can simply swap the executable for the old one, play past that spot, and switch them back.

With AMD you can edit the registry for new resolutions and refresh rates.
