Can using video capture software increase temps?

I hit 90c recording video with msi ab, and the next day gaming u didn't get above 70c? What gives

Anything that increases load on your system increases temperature. Recording video using programs such as FRAPS increases load and may lower framerate if your system was already at the limit running the game alone. If you didn't notice a performance drop then the recording was just pushing the system further which increased the temperature.
