I mean my gtx 680 sc was 500 dollars alone when i got it, and thats not even including windows, keyboard, mouse, ram, processor, motherboard, psu, or case plus you need monitor, so what is the real cost of having one? Half the folks on this gamefaqs board are saying they can build a pc for 500-1000 dollars, tell me where to sign up please.

there are video cards that exist outside of the gtx 680

You simply don't buy a $400+ GPU, a $250+ CPU, a $150+ MOBO, etc...

$800 is good enough to build a mid-tier rig.

then killer explain how you do it, because otherwise you are stuck with a prebuilt.

$800 will net you something in the upper midrange, easily.

Do you not understand the concept of buying cheaper parts, or are you (successfully) just trolling us?

how could you do it for 800 bucks thier is now fn way, monitor and everything.

Of course there is a way, you just have to shop smart and pick parts you can afford, this isn't rocket science. $600 is a great starting point if you don't need an OS and a monitor, and if you need those, well, that can be done for $800.
