Any word on Valve's Steam Box or whatever?

I haven't seen any news on it in several months. Is it still happening or is this like Half-Life 3 or what?

It's never got a release date of any kind, besides it's running on Valve time.

I hope they are biding their time, waiting for the next gen consoles to launch, and letting GPU prices continue to drop before they start production. Also, in a year Steam will have more time to get more AAA titles compatible with Linux.

Also, Occulus Rift support... if it surpasses industry expectations it could be a game changer. Sony and Microsoft will be freaking out trying to come up with their own proprietary headset.

After funding Xi3?

Yeah, that sounds like a sensible plan.

If I recall they are pushing for a Linux-based system? If Valve succeeds Microsoft better shape up quickly lest it lose yet more software exclusivity. It's becoming easier and easier to do everything you need to on the PC without Microsoft's products.

I'm curious how this will pan out.
