I hope they are biding their time, waiting for the next gen consoles to launch,and letting GPU prices continue to drop before they start production. Also, in a year Steam will have more time to get more AAA titles compatible with Linux.
Also, Occulus Rift support... if it surpasses industry expectations it could be a game changer. Sony and Microsoft will be freaking out trying to come up with their own proprietary headset.
Rift will not be a game changer except for porn.
Having a giant helmet attached to your head so that you can look around in a game is not worth $300 to most everyone.
There are always people who are willing to pay but it won't go wild.
True VR will be the real game changer and that's still at least a generation away.
