Thinking about upgrading my video card

#1bob3rt24Posted 9/8/2013 6:10:08 PM
Everything else is pretty nice still AMD 1090T X6 , 8GB of RAM, and XFire 5850's.

However with battlefield 4 coming out soon, I was thinking it might be time to upgrade my Video card. is the 5850 xfire still considered to be top end, or more middle range?
I'll probably do another xfire with the newer cards too.

Price isn't a problem yet, but I just wanted to see where that set up ranks (the 5850s)? I tried using some charts, but I can only select one 5850, so I can't get an accurate reading.

Only way to find out is to play BF4 with your current system and see if it holds up.

I play fully maxed out and I feel like it's holding up, but I feel like it's at a very low frame rate (25-35). Is there a command to show fps for BF3?

render.drawfps 1 gets you a fps counter in the console command... or you could use something like fraps

ah okay. I'm not a fan of fraps I'm afraid. I've used it before but it's not really my cup of tea.
